UPDATE: The Bureau of Labor Statistice release 2016 unemployment averages for District of Columbia in April.
The sections below outline two sets of Local Area Unemployment Statistics (LAUS) for District of Columbia District of Columbia and the EB-5 program. The ACS 5-Year is from the American Community Survey and the more recent data provided by the project's city, District of Columbia, District of Columbia to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. In the report below, if the "Qualifies" column indicates "Yes" , then District of Columbia qualifies by either the ACS or the BLS (or both). Please note that if the ACS data qualifies and the more recent BLS data indicates does not, there is an indication that employment conditions are improving and that a project in District of Columbia may not be granted a designation letter -- or depending on project type, target areas, and District of Columbia requirements, an EB-5 project may considered by either ACS or BLS unemployment rate during the approval processes.
